About Your New Job as a Senior R&D Engineer (Polymers)
- Assess polymer materials for thermoforming suitability based on properties such as melt flow behaviours, crystallinity, thermal stability, and impact resistance.
- Collaborate with suppliers to source and qualify new materials, ensuring they meet performance and cost targets.
- Provide technical expertise and guidance on polymer-related issues to interdisciplinary teams and project stakeholders
- Design and project manage trials to evaluate the performance and properties of various polymer sheet materials.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to support product development, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance activities.
- Represent the company’s technical voice by leading technical discussions with customers on new developments.
- Ensure proper documentation of work and contribute to the knowledge library – do not reinvent what has been invented elsewhere.
What Skills You Need to succeed as a Senior R&D Engineer:
- PhD with 3+ years of experience or a Graduate/Bachelor’s degree with 7+ years of experience.
- Polymer science, materials science or equivalent
- Deep understanding of polymer behaviours, material properties, and thermoforming technologies
- Collaborative Relationships and Influence Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and standards for polymer materials in relevant industries (e.g., automotive, aerospace, medical devices) is a plus.
