Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the primary Technical contact for the site.
- Liaise with the Site Production Manager to ensure all aspects of the Food Safety and Quality Management System are implemented across the site
- Work directly with the production supervisors/managers and prepare regular management reports and trend analysis.
- Ensure compliance with DAFM, BRC, MPQAS and Customer Requirements.
- Continually review existing Food Safety and Quality Management Systems in line with legislative & customer requirements.
- Keep up to date with food legislation and emerging food safety risks
- Communicate technical information in the in a way that meets the needs of the target audience.
- Develop new approaches or technologies in the area of technical to ensure continuous improvement.
- Manage certification and customer audits, completing corrective action reports to agreed timelines
- Manage customer complaints, root-cause investigation, and implementation of corrective actions
- Drive continuous improvement through Food Safety and Quality Objectives
- Develop a Food Safety Culture across the site
- Coach & nurture talent within the technical team
- Liaise with the HR manager in all HR/IR issues
Key Requirements:
- Food Science qualification, preferably a Food Science degree or equivalent experience
- Comprehensive knowledge of HACCP and Good Manufacturing Procedures
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in food safety / quality
- A proficient user of computers, i.e.: Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Good communication skills, ability to work in a team and on own initiative
- Strong organisational skills giving attention to detail
