Excellent opportunity to join a very interesting company as a Quality & Safety Technician. This role is full time on site in Rathcoole, Dublin and a full driver's license and car will be required for the role. Great scope for progression in this role, including salary increases and pension contributions. Starting salary is €35,000 - €38,000. My client is looking for someone from either a quality or safety background with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will report to the SHEQ & Technical Officer. Job Specification

  1. Training:

    • Identify training needs.
    • Arrange training delivery.
    • Monitor and assess training application.
  2. Risk Assessments:

    • Identify hazards (e.g., during the processing of hazardous materials).
    • Evaluate existing controls.
    • Implement and monitor additional controls, including training.
  3. Safety Action Group Management:

    • Oversee and manage the Safety Action Group.
  4. Quality Assurance and Control:

    • Conduct quality and compliance checks on raw materials and products, including:
      • Writing and/or coordinating the writing of procedures.
      • Implementing document control systems.
      • Arranging and monitoring operator training.
      • Ensuring implementation of quality and compliance checks.
    • Serve as a member of the internal audit team.
    • Manage equipment calibrations.
  5. Process and Product Optimisation:

    • Optimise production and administrative processes.
    • Support the introduction of new products and processes.

Essential Skills and Experience

Safety:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a Quality/Safety role within a chemical or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
  • Competence in performing risk assessments and implementing safety controls.

Personal:

  • Strong work ethic and time-management skills to set and meet goals in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective team player and capable of working independently.
  • Analytical in identifying problems and their causes, with a creative approach to solutions.

Technical:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office for analysis, summarization, and presentation.
  • Familiarity with quality auditing (e.g., ISO 9001 standards).

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Experience in chemical analysis.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and practices in Quality, Safety, and Compliance.
  • Membership or involvement in quality or compliance professional organizations.

Desired Qualifications

  • Degree in Chemistry with an emphasis on analytical techniques and/or process optimization.
  • Qualifications in Quality Assurance or related fields.
