QUANTITY SURVEYOR - Dublin OR Cork Based

We are working with a large Construction Company based in North Dublin who are looking to recruit a number of QS's in Dublin and Cork.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage daily commercial and contract activities.
  • Undertake contract administration, including change management and maintenance of associated registers (e.g., Change Order Log).
  • Negotiate and secure the best value in the placement of subcontract orders.
  • Participate in managing project budgets, cost plans, and feasibility studies as needed.
  • Validate and approve subcontractors’ interim applications and final submissions, ensuring compliance with the Construction Contracts Act.
  • Lead pre-appointment subcontractor meetings to ensure scope is clearly defined and subcontractors are appointed in line with FMC subcontract terms and any flow-downs from the main contract to mitigate contractual risk.
  • Prepare accurate monthly Cost Value Reports for review with Commercial Managers, Project Managers, Contracts Managers, and presentation to the Projects Directors.
  • Maximize cash flow through prompt submission of Monthly Valuations with complete and accurate supporting documentation as per the contract.
  • Negotiate, draft, and submit Final Accounts, including claims for loss and expense, delay and disruption, and any time extensions.
  • Maintain a productive relationship with all Design team professionals and Client representatives throughout the project.
  • Ensure the full and proper implementation of the Team Commercial procedures where delegated authority requires.

The Candidate

  • Third-level qualification in QS or an equivalent degree recognized by the Society of Chartered Surveyors of Ireland (SCSI) and/or the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).  THIS IS ESSENTIAL
  • 3-5 years of quantity surveying experience.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the various forms of contract used in the construction industry (RIAI, FIDIC, JCT, etc.).
  • Ability to critically evaluate and identify gaps in documentation and commercial opportunities (contracts, drawings, specs, CVRs).
