About your new job as a Production Operations Manager: Ensures that product quality in the assigned area meets established guidelines by monitoring, recording, and tracking production, while collaborating with technicians, operators, engineers, and value stream leads to meet schedules and maintain accurate records.

Your duties as a Production Operations Manager:

  • Lead and support production teams to meet manufacturing goals, while coordinating with other production areas and managing communications.
  • Utilize statistical process control (SPC) to monitor product quality and use basic computer tools for analyzing results and compiling reports.
  • Ensure the safety and security of personnel, machines, equipment, and facilities in the production area, including conducting Line Safety Walkabouts each shift.
  • Responsible for achieving shift performance KPIs, focusing on high utilization, high yield, and low cost of quality, while planning and scheduling with the planner and Value Stream Lead (VSL).
  • Develop and maintain production methods, procedures, and documentation to comply with ISO9001, ISO 13485, and ISO 14001 standards, while upholding company policies and guidelines.
  • Plan and coordinate training, development, and performance reviews for technicians and operators, and handle talent development and succession planning.
  • Expedite materials, equipment, and resources as needed, and coordinate product, process, and automation changes with engineers to ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Make decisions related to quality, processing, automation, and tooling on the production floor, and coordinate these with the relevant engineers.

What skill/experience you need

  • Preferably holds a qualification in plastic or mechanical engineering or has relevant industry experience.
  • Requires at least 5 years of experience in managing people, with a focus on talent development and team building.
  • Experience in the injection moulding industry is preferred.
  • Should have practical knowledge of robots, automation systems, and related moulding equipment.
  • Needs to be self-driven, detail-oriented, and capable of collaborating within a team setting.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be comfortable interacting with employees at all levels.
  • Must uphold high Health and Safety standards and ensure adherence to site Health and Safety protocols.
  • Should possess strong numerical abilities and experience in budget management.
