Job description

Process Engineer wanted for one of Ireland's leading timber processing entities who  operateacross three sites in Cork.

About your new employer: One of Ireland's leading timber processing entities operates across three sites in Cork. Specializing in the manufacturing of softwood products, our focus extends to serving the construction, fencing, and pallet industries in both domestic and international markets.

About your new job as a Process Engineer

  • Provide technical support for operation and maintenance operations at the Combined Heat and Power plant, including effective investigation, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Manage the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), overseeing spare parts management and ordering through the CMMS.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead or participate in cross-functional teams to implement improvements, supporting activities in cost reduction, process efficiency, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure adherence to health and safety best practices, leading and supporting safety investigations, and improving safety procedures, including the implementation of new procedures when necessary.
  • Analyze all plant processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Project manage engineering projects, shutdowns, and process improvements.

What skill/experience you need as a Process Engineer

  • Degree/Certificate in Process, Mechanical, Automation, Electrical, or equivalent.
  • Ideally, a minimum of 2 years' experience in a power generation or manufacturing environment.
  • Essential well-developed interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong understanding and experience of production processes and operational requirements in a manufacturing environment.
  • Advantageous to have experience with 2D AutoCAD and a 3D modeling software package like Solidworks or Inventor, though not essential.
  • Advantageous, but not essential, to have experience in control systems and PLC programming.
  • Ability to work effectively using own initiative.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
