Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Fault finding and repair of comfort cooling and CRAC units, ensuring systems are fully operational.
  • Safe handling of refrigerants and pressurized gases, adhering to industry standards and safety protocols.
  • Deliver all planned maintenance activities in line with contract requirements, ensuring timely and effective service.
  • Execute reactive maintenance tasks as needed, including managing tickets through the client's online system and assignments via the CMMS/CAFM system.
  • Develop and implement preventative measures to minimize equipment breakdowns and ensure continuous business operations.
  • Create and maintain asset lists and historical maintenance records to ensure accurate documentation.
  • Research and develop proposals aimed at improving the performance of HVAC systems, ensuring efficiency and reliability.
  • Review third-party risk assessments and method statements, managing the permit process to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee and manage onsite minor works projects, ensuring they are completed on time and to the required standard.
  • Assist project teams on large-scale refurbishments, fit-outs, or new builds associated with the contract.
  • Attend client meetings as required by the Contract Manager, providing technical support and updates.
  • Maintain and clean plant areas, ensuring a safe and organized working environment.
  • Conduct weekly building walkthroughs to identify and address any electrical issues.
  • Provide technical cover during bank holidays on a rota basis, ensuring service continuity.
  • Innovate and lead by driving value and efficiencies within the team and operations.

What skills and experience do you need?

  • HVAC qualification and proven experience in facilities maintenance, with strong knowledge of chillers, split systems, close control units, VRV/VRFs, AHUs, and related systems.
  • Experience with handling refrigerants and pressurized gases, with a solid understanding of safety procedures.
  • Familiarity with CMMS/CAFM systems and the ability to manage both reactive and planned maintenance through these platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to devise preventative measures to avoid equipment failures.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and collaborate with project teams.
  • Flexibility to work shifts, including some bank holidays, and adapt to varying working hours and locations.
