About your new job as a Maintenance Manager: The Maintenance Manager is responsible for scheduling and performing corrective and preventative maintenance on manufacturing equipment, ensuring compliance with procedures and Health and Safety guidelines. This role involves troubleshooting equipment issues and collaborating with engineers and vendors to develop effective solutions. The manager also develops and monitors maintenance KPIs, creates detailed shutdown schedules, provides on-call support, and manages the maintenance team’s performance.
Your duties as a Maintenance Manager
- Schedule corrective and preventative maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment with input from relevant manufacturing personnel and ensure compliance with procedures, policies, and Health and Safety guidelines.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and collaborate with equipment owners, engineers, and vendors to develop effective solutions.
- Balance and maintain the maintenance and calibration schedule throughout the year, ensuring it is level-loaded.
- Develop and track Maintenance KPIs to monitor department commitments, compliance, and quality, and report performance to management.
- Create detailed shutdown schedules in collaboration with stakeholders, and track and report on progress during execution.
- Represent the Maintenance team in cross-functional meetings, develop standard operating procedures, provide on-call support, and manage the performance of the maintenance team.
What skill/experience you need as a Maintenance Manager
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar environment, demonstrating proficiency in maintenance operations.
- 5 years' experience in a supervisory role, overseeing calibration and repairs of production equipment.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Maintenance Systems and Quality Systems within food manufacturing, including deviations, root cause analysis, training, and good documentation practices.
- Ability to independently organize work and provide regular updates and task tracking with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, essential for effective collaboration and reporting.
