Purpose of Job
As the Lead EC&I Technician,
You will work at this state of the art facility that diverts over 600,000 tonnes of waste annually from landfills, generating enough electricity to power over 100,000 homes.
Reporting directly to the Maintenance Manager, you will oversee and carry out planned and unplanned maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs of plant equipment. This includes leading a team of EC&I Maintenance Technicians, ensuring operational continuity, and upholding high standards for safety and compliance.
What you will do
- Lead daily maintenance activities, managing a team of EC&I Maintenance Technicians and contractors.
- Ensure compliance with safety procedures and environmental regulations.
- Support recruitment, training, and performance appraisals for team members.
- Oversee planned, preventive, and reactive maintenance for electrical, control, and instrumentation systems.
- Maintain and manage the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for accurate maintenance records.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility performance and reliability.
Qualifications and Experience
- A technical degree in Electrical, Control, and Instrumentation (EC&I) or equivalent technical training.
- At least five years of supervisory experience with expertise in systems like DCS, PLCs, hydraulics, and pressure systems.
- Strong knowledge of CMMS and project management tools.
- Proven leadership skills, with a commitment to continuous improvement in maintenance operations.
- Experience in energy recovery, plant maintenance, and major shutdowns.
