Reporting to a senior manager, as IT Staff Officer, you will provide frontline IT support and promote the effective use of ICT. The role will involve management of an outsourced ICT provider as well as providing support in the development and implementation of IT projects.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Support the development and implementation of new ICT initiatives
• Promote the effective use of ICT to support the business of the organisation
• Provide frontline IT support and training to staff, explaining complex technical information to a non-technical audience.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation, various external organisations and with third parties including vendors.
• Assist with management and liaison of outsourced ICT Provider.
• Facilitate regular meetings with ICT provider to ensure effective management of cloud resources, monitoring of network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls and VPNs and ensure regular back ups and replications are made on a regular basis.
• Participate in the development and roll out of ICT policies as required; ensuring that all IT security policies and procedures are adhered to across all systems.
• Support end users to maximise their use of the systems in place.
• Communicate effectively and confidently with end users and senior management.
• Manage cloud resources
• Install and upgrade desktops, laptops, network printers, and IoT devices.
• Help ensure that the organisation operates the best security practices
• Document IT systems, configurations, and procedures for knowledge sharing and training.
• Test and evaluate new hardware and software to determine if they are suitable.
• Keep up to date with advancements in computing technology and recommend upgrades or changes as necessary.
• Manage and maintain the ICT Asset listing, ensuring that all equipment is tracked and accounted for.
• Any other duties as directed from time to time.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
Candidates must meet the following essential requirements prior to their appointment:
• A relevant bachelor’s degree in IT or equivalent or a minimum of three years relevant IT experience.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft products (Windows 11), creation and administration of user accounts, Office 365/Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Intune, Azure, OneNote etc.
• Experience in software installation, configuration,and lifecycle update management.

Candidates must have unconditional authorisation to live and work in Ireland.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience of communicating technical information to both technical and non-technical experts.
• Experience in supporting the development and implementation of new IT systems.
