About your new job as an Extrusion Engineer

  • Leads the identification, specification, implementation, management, and validation of new equipment and technologies in the extrusion process.
  • Provides product line support for extrusion, including documentation of equipment and processes, validation of extrusion products, and management of new product/process/technology introductions or modifications while maintaining detailed records.
  • Monitors and manages key production indicators, ensuring ongoing achievement and improvement of these KPIs.
  • Proposes and leads strategic projects to enhance production, leveraging the latest technological and process innovations.
  • Solves complex technical challenges using advanced methods, while adapting and expanding existing theories, practices, and principles from the field and related disciplines.
  • Actively engages in the Operations Tier Management System, collaborating with Operations leaders to ensure alignment between engineering initiatives and operational priorities.

 

What skill/experience you need as an Extrusion Engineer

  • Strong extrusion experience.
  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a technical field related to the department or industry with six years of experience, a Master's Degree with four years of experience, or a PhD with two years of experience.
  • Experience with statistical analysis of large data sets, including writing reports to interpret and support data findings.
  • Previous experience in polymer processing is advantageous.
  • Lean/Six Sigma Problem Solving certification (Green or Black Belt).
  • Ability to independently apply analytical skills and scientific principles in problem solving and development.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with proven ability to work effectively in teams.
  • Proficient computer skills, including spreadsheets, word processing, databases, and other relevant software applications.
