Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Act as the main contact during shifts for both the client and management, overseeing all activities and operations.
  • Supervise the Facilities Operation Centre (FOC) and manage the shift team, ensuring efficient workflow and task prioritization.
  • Monitor critical systems (Electrical, Mechanical, Fire, etc.), responding promptly to alarms and abnormal conditions.
  • Assist with equipment shutdowns/startups for maintenance, supporting PM/CM activities.
  • Provide a comprehensive shift handover report to the incoming team, covering all key operations and issues.
  • Respond to emergencies, including fire alerts and equipment alarms, following established procedures.
  • Review and manage work permits, ensuring subcontractors are compliant with safety and operational protocols.
  • Conduct inspections of vendor work quality, reviewing service reports for maintenance and project activities.
  • Accurately log all activities and time in the CMMS, ensuring complete and up-to-date records.

 

What skills and experience do you need?

  • A verifiable qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, along with proven additional training applicable to the environment.
  • Familiarity with low voltage (LV) power distribution and load management, with previous experience in data centers or similar settings being a plus.
  • Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical systems commonly found in data centers, such as feeders, transformers, generators, fuel systems, switchgear, UPS systems, battery banks, ATS/STS units, PDUs, chillers, air handling units, CRAC units, fire alarms, and suppression systems.
  • Proficiency in working with complex automatic control systems, including relay logic, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and building management systems, and their integration within data center infrastructure.
  • Open to working a continental shift (mix of days and nights)
