Role Overview:
We are currently seeking a Civil or Structural Engineer with expertise in the water industry to join our expanding team. This role offers the chance to work on a variety of water-related infrastructure projects, including water treatment facilities, drainage systems, and flood prevention schemes. You will play a key role in designing, managing, and implementing projects that ensure the safe and efficient delivery of water services to the local community.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop civil engineering solutions for water industry projects, including water treatment, distribution, and drainage systems.
Lead site surveys, conduct hydrological studies, and prepare detailed technical reports.
Work collaboratively with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects meet technical, regulatory, and environmental requirements.
Ensure compliance with water industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental considerations throughout the project lifecycle.
Prepare feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments for water projects.
Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively to deliver projects on time and within budget.
Provide technical guidance and support during the construction phase of projects.
Liaise with local authorities and regulatory bodies to secure necessary permits and approvals for water-related projects.
Requirements:
Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (or related field).
Significant experience (2+ years) in the water industry, with a focus on water treatment, drainage, or water distribution projects.
Strong understanding of water industry regulations, environmental standards, and sustainable water management practices.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
Experience with flood risk management and mitigation strategies.
Knowledge of water quality and environmental assessments.
- Experience in working with Canal Projects
Familiarity with Health & Safety regulations within the water industry.
