About Your New Job:

As a Shift Maintenance Technician, you will:

  • Undertake Electrical and Mechanical troubleshooting on the Bread production lines and equipment.
  • Perform Electro-mechanical repairs on high-speed, PLC-controlled Bakery plant, handling, and packaging equipment.
  • Conduct preventive and predictive maintenance routines using the site CMMS (PEMAC).
  • Support the Production Team in achieving targets and closely monitor line and machine performance.
  • Handle repairs to mechanical and control systems equipment, including pneumatics and hydraulics.
  • Demonstrate initiative in detecting and acting on faults with immediate repair when required.
  • Work closely with the production team and maintain cleanliness in the workshop and stores.
  • Participate in cross-skilling training and development and troubleshoot using PLC programs.
  • Be flexible for overtime when needed.

What Skills You Need:

  • Strong Mechanical/Electrical background with trades qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role in regulated manufacturing environment (outside of apprenticeship).
  • Aptitude for process awareness and diagnostic/trouble-shooting experience in a Hi-volume environment.
  • Multi-skilled/cross-skilled ethos with good teamwork and initiative.
  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance experience and/or qualifications.
  • Excellent awareness of quality, health, and safety, with experience in planned preventative maintenance.
  • Skilled in fault finding and problem-solving in high-speed mechanical systems, electrical systems, automation, and PLC-based control systems.
  • Good PC skills and excellent communication abilities.
  • Previous experience in FMCG/Food manufacturing is advantageous.
