I'm currently recruiting for a very rare role as Assistant Terminal Manager at Dublin Port. This role has come up due to a number of internal promotions. Most people in this company have been there 10-15 years, so an opportunity for someone external to join the business is not one to be missed. The Assistant Terminal Manager will oversee all aspects of the ongoing safe operation of the facility, including the discharge of Petroleum Ships, loading of Petroleum Road Tankers, accounting for the inward and outward movements of the petroleum products, management of Contractors, with the monitoring of the Permit to Work programme and planning/supervising site maintenance activity.

The successful candidate must have a positive attitude to safety, be supportive of the flexibility required to work as part of the Operations Team and should enjoy working with the different stakeholders in the Terminal – including Shipping personnel, Truck Drivers, Maintenance Contractors, Engineering, Safety Advisers, Senior Management and Regulatory.

The Assistant Terminal Managers’ responsibilities will include:

• Practising strong Leadership and Accountability

• Working closely with the Terminal Manager and Engineering to oversee Terminal Development

• Working daily with the Supply department to manage Terminal inventory and Supply Programme

• Managing daily Site Operations and Maintenance activities on site

• Reviewing/Risk Assessing site activities and preparing safe systems of work

• Operating the Terminal in accordance with the company’s Safety and Environmental Management System

• Auditing Site Performance and identifying gaps

• Involvement in regulatory inspections

• Creating a positive work environment for all site users, in the Terminal and on the Jetty

• Effective Change Management in a dynamic and continuously changing Facility

• The Assistant Terminal Manager shall be an alternate for the Terminal Manager when required

Qualifications or Experience in any of the following areas would be advantageous to the applicant:

• Previous Experience in Operations Management

• Experience in a COMAH Facility

• Project Management

• Engineering

• Health and Safety qualification

• Marine Vessel Offloading experience

• Experience Managing Teams

• Experience Implementing Organisational Change
