Adrian McGennis

I was one of the founding directors of Sigmar in 2002 and served as CEO until 2023. Before Sigmar, I was the Managing Director for Ireland with Marlborough Plc, where I successfully managed the Irish business from its inception in 1993 until 2001, overseeing a group turnover of €70 million.

I have been actively involved in two of Ireland’s most successful job creation support schemes. I co-founded Ireland Gateway to Europe and served as Chairman of National Employment Week. Additionally, I am a regular commentator on employment, recruitment, and business issues in the press, on radio, and on television.

I have also served on the board of Newcourt Plc and was a board member of Marlborough Plc when it became the first service business in Ireland to float on the AIM Irish Stock Exchange in 1997. Furthermore, I have acted as a non-executive director of Encore Exploration Ltd and have been centrally involved in two successful IPOs. In 2023 I was also presented with the James Kilbane Award for Lifetime Achievement by the Employment & Recruitment Federation.

With 30+ years of experience in recruitment, I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Trinity College Dublin and a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from University College Dublin. I have been a Fellow of the National Recruitment Federation since 2010.
